Tom Ricks calls Fox News for 'hyped' and 'extremely political' Benghazi coverage |
SEOOKE.com: Fox News typically does a better job of screening its guests to
ensure that they toe the company line of bashing President Barack Obama
regardless of the situation and regardless of the truth.
Seems author Tom Ricks slipped past the screeners at the Fox News
network and Rick said just whatever came to his mind. So on Monday, Fox
News guest Tom Ricks called out the network on its coverage of Benghazi.
In addition to being a respected author, Rick is also a Pulitzer Prize
winning reporter for the Wall Street Journal and the Washington Post. On the Fox
News televised broadcast. Tom Ricks was asked by Happening Now’s host Jon
Scott about how Sen. John McCain appears to be backing off of his criticism of
U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice, who made some much-criticized statements about
Benghazi in a series of Sept. 16 interviews.

“I think that Benghazi
generally was hyped, by this network especially. Then John Scott tried futilely
to push back on the accusation that Fox News "hyped" the
attack. Tom Ricks snapped back at Jon Scott, “How many security contractors
died in Iraq?
Ricks replied.
“I don’t,” Scott said.
“No, nobody does, because nobody cared. We know that several hundred died,
but there was never an official count done of security contractors dead in Iraq. So when I
say this focus on what was essentially a small fire-fight, I think, number one,
I’ve covered a lot of fire-fights, it is impossible to figure out what happens
in them sometimes,” said Tom Ricks who then slammed Fox News again for
their Benghazi
coverage. "Alright, Tom Ricks. Thanks very much for joining us
today," Scott said.
“You’re welcome,” Ricks replied.
But Fox News should not have been surprised according to Tom Ricks,
who said he gave Fox News advance warning of what he would say, that
he thought the network had "hyped" the Benghazi story and “it should have been no
surprise when I said it.” Tom Ricks told Politico that “my feeling was
that they asked my opinion and I gave it.”
Tom Ricks told Politico in
an e-mail. Fox News can certainly benefit some by the wisdom of General George
Marshall, instead of running a broadcast puppet show where the guests says just
what the powers that be at Fox want them to say. Just read their Fox lips and
enjoy the puppet show.
